The Structure

Vertical timber posts are joined with horizontal beams to create a time-tested timber frame to which the exterior walls and roof are attached to create a thermal envelope. The timber frame itself is completely exposed to the interior within because the timber frame bears the weight of the structure, design possibilities are practically unlimited. Our timber frames are engineered to time-tested standards and adaptable for use in any variety of sizes and configurations meeting the most intensive load conditions.

 

The Design

As you look through our standard library of timber frame home designs, the flexibility of a Mill Creek system will become apparent. The home designs included are some of our most popular and you may find your need precisely or you may desire to modify to some degree—enlarge or reduce dimensions, change the floor plan, add a wing, porch or decks or take away. You may prefer the exterior of one design and the floor plans of another with changes. If you desire, we can always work with you to incorporate the Mill Creek timber work into an entirely original vision.
